By now, it’s a near-certainty that Sony will be revealing the high-speed Sony a9 II near the end of October. And thanks to a few leaks, we now have our first look at the full-frame mirrorless camera.
In two reports published over the past few weeks, Sony Alpha Rumors has revealed two leaked images of the Sony a9 II, showing that the design is nearly identical to the recently announced Sony a7R IV and very similar to the original Sony a9.
In fact, the only real differences we can spot is that the a9 II may sport a slightly beefier grip, like the a7R IV, and does away with the focus mode dial lock button on the top left of the camera. Do you notice any other differences in the leaked images below?
As of today we are one month away from the PhotoPlus Expo, around which Sony is reportedly planning to debut the camera. Contrary to what a Sony spokesperson told us, it seems Sony will not be at the show itself—the company is still missing from both the exhibitor list and the floor plan—and is planning to host its own camera events instead.
